problem sending snmp v3 traps with snmp++ example

Hi,
I have compiled the rsaeuro package as well as the snmp++ package. And
compiled and linked against these projects using the
consoleexamples\snmpTraps.cpp.
I can send out v1 and v2 traps just fine, but then I try to send out v3
traps I get the following error message:
     Error saving snmpEngineBoots counter: -6
