Typically, I discovered the lack of settings about 5 minutes after posting!! I 
had assumed that my 'old' project settings for the previous version I was 
using would happily work and then flapped when they didn't ;¬D.

I think this is a limitation of your project settings ;-)

Make sure that SNMP_PP_EXPORTS and _USRDLL are defined and DLLOPT is 
undefined (or defined as in config_snmp_pp.h)
