Dear Sir,

I am trying to cross-compile the agent++/snmp++ for an Cortext-A8 based embedded Linux system.

I got the following output from running the configure tool:

root at ubuntu:~/Development/source/SMC/lib/snmp++-3.3.4# ./configure
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for a thread-safe mkdir -p... /bin/mkdir -p
checking for gawk... gawk
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes
checking whether to enable maintainer-specific portions of Makefiles... no
checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu
checking for gcc... /usr/local/cross_compiler/linux-devkit/sysroots/i686-arago-linux/usr/bin/arm-linux-gnueabihf-gcc
checking whether the C compiler works... yes
checking for C compiler default output file name... a.out
checking for suffix of executables...
checking whether we are cross compiling... configure: error: in `/root/Development/source/SMC/lib/snmp++-3.3.4':
configure: error: cannot run C compiled programs.
If you meant to cross compile, use `--host'.
See `config.log' for more details
root at ubuntu:~/Development/source/SMC/lib/snmp++-3.3.4# ./configure --host
configure: error: missing argument to --host-alias

I am not sure what argument I need to add to -host.

Your help are greatly appreciated.
