[MIB Explorer] Questions about compiing MIB definition files

Goodday,

I just downloaded the MIB Explorer Pro for evaluation. It first tried to
compile some MIB's definitions. U use sources extracted from RFC's and
gathered from the internet (e.g. http://www.snmplink.org
<http://www.snmplink.org/> , http://www.mibdepot.com
<http://www.mibdepot.com/> as indicated by the MibExplorer Manual).

Now none of the MIB's will compile. The compiler does not accept the
"<NAME> MACRO" syntax (e.g. OBJECT-TYPE MACRO). Error 1000 tell's me
that the MODULE-IDENTITY could be missing, but the MODULE-IDENTITY
definition is not used in definition files with only macro's and is only
needed for SMI v2 (?) - the compiler should also be able to handle v1
syntax?

In the next definition

IpAddress ::=
    [APPLICATION 0]
        IMPLICIT OCTET STRING (SIZE (4))

... the compiler tells me that the '[' character is illegal (error 50);
but the syntax seems totally valid to me.

I must be missing something. Can somebody tell me what I am doing wrong
