Thanks all for your help! I'm getting down to the more picky issues:

Logging: I'd like all of logs to go to a file (not the console). Where is
that set?

Snmp group info: it appears that the location, operator etc. are set in some
files,
how can I point all that information into one configuration file?

A rather cryptic file is getting generated snmpV3*.config - what is this
file and
can I stop this from being created?

My observation is that this is one very well rounded and detailed library.
For us
coming in from the outside, it is quite an experience to get up to speed.
