Agent/Solaris Questions

Hi Eitan

We recently (a couple of months ago) talked about this - I'll see if I can
find what I posted back then. But, anyway, the Solaris native agent doesn't
implement AgentX or SMUX, but it can be made to proxy to agents running on
different ports (ie. not 161). So all you will need to do is to write an
agent using the standard Agent++ classes, arrange that the port on which it
runs can be set via its command line, and configure the native agent to run
it and proxy to it for your mib.

Subject: Agent/Solaris Questions

Hi,
I'm going to write an Agent for services running over Solaris O.S.
I also want to use Solaris private agent that comes with the O.S.

Some commercial packages (for example SNMP Research) provide an adaptor
layer to "hook" up between two agents.

Should I use AgentX in such a case ? or there is something equivalent in
Agent++

Thanks
