AgenPro2.0 compiling a repository

Hi Frank, Henning,

Ahah - this could be it - my textual conventions file does not have
a MODULE-IDENTITY construct in it because I thought that you only needed
that for MIB definitions and this theory was backed up by the
SNMPv2-TC-rfc2579.txt which does not have a MODULE-IDENTITY construct.

So I have 6 files in my directory -
QUANTUMBEAM-TC.txt
QUANTUMBEAM-MLINK-MIB.txt
QUANTUMBEAM-GLOBAL-REG.txt
SNMPv2-TC-rfc2579.txt
SNMPv2-SMI-rfc2578.txt
SNMPv2-CONF-rfc2580.txt

QUANTUMBEAM-GLOBAL-REG.txt has all the top level registrations for my
sub-tree and starts with a MODULE-IDENTITY construct.
QUANTUMBEAM-TC.txt has all my textual conventions and does not start with a
MODULE-IDENTITY construct.
QUANTUMBEAM-MLINK-MIB.txt has my MIB definition and starts with a
MODULE-IDENTITY construct.

the SNMPv2 files are there as I import definitions from them e.g.
MODULE-IDENTITY.

So should the -TC file have a MODULE-IDENTITY construct in it? and if so why
does SNMPv2-TC-rfc2579.txt not have one? If not how do I get my MIB to
import the definitions form the -TC file?

Thanks again for all your help.

Regards,
Neil

Hi Neil,

The TEXTUAL-CONVENTION clause is only available in SMIv2.
A SMIv2 module must have exactly one MODULE-IDENTITY
construct. Does your MIB has such a construct?

Best regards,
Frank
