[SNMP4J] Need an Efficient of Reaching an Snmp Agent.

Hi,
my questions are as follows:.can Someone suggest me better solutions for these 
1) Is there a quick way to discover snmp agent other than sending a Get Request PDU.?
2) Also can we reduce the time taken for creating and closing snmp (session )objects.Any efficient way of doing this will help me a lot as i have to communicate with numerous devices.
