Dear Friends,

This is my first e-mail on this forum. I am a student of Information
Technology and Engineering studying in Iindia.
As a part of my curriculum, I would like to build a project on SNMP using
the open-source SNMP4J API. At this moment, I am thinking of building a
simple SNMP Agent on a Windows machine using which, I can monitor some of
the parameters on the machine itself. For example, the basic parameters for
the network card of the machine.

I am totally new to this API and hence would like to request for your
guidance. Could somebody kindly provide me some guidance on this topic?

I understood that the APIs SNMP4J and SNMP4J-Agent are based on Apache 2.0
license and hence should be essentially free to use (at least for the
academic purposes). Could you please confirm if the above APIs (excluding
the SNMP4J-AgentX and SNMP4J-AgentJMX APIs) be sufficient to build such a
project? Where can I download the SNMP4J and SNMP4J-Agent APIs? I could not
find a download link for the same.

Many thanks in advance for your kind guidance.

Have a nice day!

~Abhi
