[SNMP4J] Possible to override device name in PDU message?

We created a web service that wraps the SNMP4J api for sending PDU alerts. The problem is that, since the web service lives on a single machine, say "host1", all alert messages have "host1" as the device when received in our monitoring console. We want to allow clients using the web service to specify the device name from which the alert condition originated....does the API allow for overriding the device name in the PDU object?
