[SNMP4J] Possible to override device name in PDU message?

Hi,
There is no device name in a PDU ( if not put in there through a variable binding). Thus, the answer is no, because the thing you want to overwrite does not exist. The IP of the packet cannot be changed, of course.

Best regards
Frank

The problem is that, since the web service lives on a single machine, say "host1", all alert messages have "host1" as the device when received in our monitoring console. We want to allow clients using the web service to specify the device name from which the alert condition originated....does the API allow for overriding the device name in the PDU object?
