I tried with
gcc version 2.95.2 19991024 (release) / Digital Unix V4.0 (Rev. 1229)
gcc version egcs-2.91.66 19990314/Linux (egcs-1.1.2 release) / RedHat
Linux
gcc version egcs-2.91.60 Debian 2.1 (egcs-1.1.1 release)
and I only got 3 warnings for snmp++, but none of them was about
unused arguments.

Could you send the output of your compiler to me (not to the list)?
