One concern is a delay of SNMP messages. This issue is to be discussed
whenever implementing any packet transport protocol over satellite
links.

Especially, if you need to use SNMPv3 with a message authentication,
this issue becomes inevitable because SNMPv3 requires timeliness of a
message.

I have not ever used SNMP++ V3, so I have no idea about how to tune up
the time window reasonably for your environment. Sorry for the general
answer, but wish this reply was useful for you.
