I use the latest net-snmp version 5.3.1.
Compile options:
./configure --with-mib-modules="agentx/subagent"
--with-sys-contact="address at example.com" --with-sys-location="Some
location" --with-logfile="/var/log/snmpd.log"
--with-default-snmp-version=3 --with-persistent-directory="/var/net-snmp"
make
make install
/usr/local/sbin/snmpd -f -L -X localhost:4700
./myagent (in another terminal)

Ctrl-c for snmpd and then Ctrl-c for myagent => myagent never stops

There is one caveat that may cause this: I've got 5.3.0.1 installed by
rpm, and it is impossible to get rid of because of too many references....
some testing later....: It seems that v5.3.0.1 also has the same
behaviour. Standard SUSE 10.1 package.
