Thank you for your quick reply. Just for your information:
We have initially planned to use JAgentX, which you were probably
referring to in your answer, but as it only supports SNMPv1 and
development has practically stopped (unless some other students continue
work on it), I have searched for alternatives and found SNMP4J.
However I now also think it is a bit too general/complex for our
specific use so we'll probably stay with the JAgentX-solution for now.
I'll keep following SNMP4J's progress and re-evaluate the situation when
Agent(X)-support arrives:)
